OWL SQUAD WEEK 7

One by one, our little Owl Squad are returning home. They've been a long way! The final leaderboard looks like this:

The owls flew an amazing more than 14,000 miles altogether, to destinations all over the UK (plus a sneaky trip to Italy for naughty Lorraine!) That would get you all the way to…

OWL SQUAD WEEK 6

THIS WEEK: Breaking news from our rogue owl, Lorraine, whom we last saw living the high life in London. She then found her way to the airport and snuck onto a Ryanair flight to Naples. You can see her in the photograph admiring Mount Vesuvius, and she also enjoyed a pizza and a visit to the ruins…

OWL SQUAD WEEK 5

A teachable moment this week when Pastel Sandra exceeded her baggage allowance and we had to bail her out before the post office would deliver! Meanwhile Lost John went to Southampton, decided to extend his stay and spent the weekend in Cardiff visiting the castle and watching the runup to the…

OWL SQUAD WEEK 4

This week, we thought you might like to see our amazing Owl Tracker map, which is on our Geography display in the classroom and is, for several members of Owl Class, the most important thing in the room!

Every mission a squad member goes on is recorded on the board so we know who is where, and…

OWL SQUAD WEEK 3

This week saw the return of Barb, and we got lots of news from the owls we posted last week!

Focused Frederick has had a wonderful adventure in Lincoln. He enjoyed a glorious day out in the city centre looking at the cathedral and the castle in the sunshine. He visited the museum of Lincolnshire and saw their famous scarecrow and lots of farm machinery. The harvest has largely been brought in, so he didn't get to see a combine harvester in action, but he did find some big ones in the museum. He also found a tank - there are lots of RAF and army bases in Lincolnshire. He is now on the way home.

Pastel Sandra reported back from Harrogate. She did get rained on, but found beautiful rolling hills, drystone walls and visited the Victorian pump house because Harrogate was originally a Victorian spa town. She should be winging her way home this week, too.

Beats has made it to a primary school in Sunderland and we eagerly await his report.

Natalie is in Rhyl, just outside the Snowdonia National Park - also at a primary school with a very excited teacher!

Speckle has arrived in the little village of Histon, near Cambridge.

Spike and Bob are expected back from Liverpool and Manchester early next week.

Best of all, our wonderful PTA have presented Mrs E with some more second class stamps so the next flight is being prepared for next week. Where will they all end up next?

In Geography this week, Owl Class looked at counties. Some of the class will have worn their County Crowns home - we learned what sorts of things different counties are famous for and - of course - addressed some envelopes!

Tune in next week for more incredible adventures from the Owl Squad!
