Aldermaston C of E Primary School Uniform Expectations

School Uniform can be purchased from the school's supplier Michael Hope (with the school logo) from local shops (no school logo) or second hand from the PTA.

Wearing a uniform is a way of showing commitment to an organisation’s values, including respect for self and each-other. It also reduces any fashion competitions and saves time deciding what to wear in the morning! This sheet is to help you support you and your child in getting it right. Remember that this refers to PE kit as well.

PE Kit (in a named draw-string bag)

To be in school everyday Winter

Light blue t-shirt with or without the school's logo

Navy shorts (no skorts or cycling shorts)

Plimsolls (for indoor wear - Foundation and KS1 only)

Trainers (for outdoor PE)

All children need to have a Navy tracksuit (or jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt/hoodie (Navy)) for outdoor PE lessons.

Hair

All hair that is long enough to be tied back (girls and boys) must be completely tied back with plain hair ties/clips. This is for safety reasons and should also reduce the incidence of headlice.

Make-up/Nail Varnish

No make-up, including nail varnish, is permitted to be worn in school. If clear lip balm is required for medical purposes, please ensure that it is named and your child hands it to their teacher. No other lip balms are allowed.

Jewellery

The only jewellery that is permitted is a watch and plain stud earrings. If your child is unable to remove their earrings independently, please ensure that they don’t wear them to school on a PE day.

Should you have any questions about school uniform, please do not hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.

Our PTA has a stock of good quality second hand items: please email pta@aldermaston.w-berks.sch.uk with your request.

Finally, if your child has borrowed clothes from school, please wash and return these as soon as possible.

All items of clothing, kit and footwear should be clearly marked with the child's name.
