Science is the process by which children learn about the world around them by asking questions and investigating the answers.

Science lessons combine discussion with practical work and the exploration of scientific knowledge.  Children develop an extensive range of scientific vocabulary and learn about the lives and work of key scientific figures.  We use knowledge organisers to share core learning for each unit of work.

Where possible, links will be made to termly topics or learning in other subjects.

Children will develop their skills in working scientifically as they move through our school.  To find out more about the focus at each stage of your child's education, please read our progression document here.
