The Sound of Music !
Last Wednesday evening, the Berkshire Maestros Junior Music Festival was held at the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke. We had 36 children from Owls, Kingfishers and Starlings taking part in the festival, which was a superb performance of music by the combined choirs of several West Berkshire schools. It was quite a proud and emotional event for everyone involved as it felt like such a long time since so many children had been able to sing together. Our school choir sounded lovely and played their junk instruments brilliantly.
It was a long day for our children who set off from school for an afternoon rehearsal at 12.30pm and then began their evening performance at 7.00pm. Thank your Mrs Ebrey for organising all the rehearsals, arranging our trip to the performance and organising a tasty evening meal. Thank you also to Mrs Makepeace for accompanying and supporting the choir during the performance. We’re already looking forward to performing again next year!
