IT'S BOOK WEEK!
Timetables, maps and passports will all be in your child's book bag tonight - please do have a look! The timetable for the week is below, too.
There are additional copies of the passports in the school office if you'd like extras. All book caches will be in place by 12 noon tomorrow (Saturday 25th February) and stay there until 4PM on Sunday 5th March.
You'll also be able to find us on Facebook - look on Aldermaston PTA page under the hashtag #bookweekatAldermaston for all the latest news - and do feel free to post your feedback and your photos. We'd love to see them.

BOOK WEEK 2023 – everything you need to know!
Here’s the headlines and timetable for Book Week! There are lots and lots of ways for you to get involved in sharing stories – with friends, family, and the wider community. Enjoy!
DRESS UP DAY – our very popular dressing up day will be on the Monday of Book Week to kick off the week! See our school blog for lots and lots of ideas for low-hassle costume ideas.
BOOK CACHING This will run from Saturday 25th February until Sunday 5th March. You’ll get your maps and passports from school this Friday – all you have to do is get out there with your family and find the book caches. There will be a trail at school; a walkable one in the village and a hard core one which takes you further afield! Have fun and send us your photos!
THE BIG BOOK QUIZ – How’s your book trivia knowledge? We’ll publish a fun interactive round of our Book Quiz on the school website every day for you to enjoy with your family. Why not team up for a bit of friendly competition?!
STORYTELLING EVENING – everyone invited to Larks on the evening of Tuesday 28th February 6PM– 6:45 for a mug of hot chocolate and a bedtime story or two! Siblings, parents, grandparents and friends all welcome. Pyjamas encouraged!
PHOTO COMPETITION: #extremereading Back by popular request! What’s the weirdest and most wonderful place you can be photographed reading a book? Mr Bounce on the trampoline? The Enchanted Wood halfway up a tree? Harry Potter in the cupboard under the stairs? (Real or Photoshopped is fine – get creative!) Pupils, parents, grandparents, teachers, pets – all very welcome to join in! You can bring your printed photos in, email them to school or upload them to Google Classrooms – do let us know if you’re happy for us to share them!
THE BIG BAD (BOOK AND DOUGHNUT) SALE! This will be in Larks room on Friday afternoon. Children can bring a pound to school and come and choose a book from our amazing preloved book sale before they go home at the end of the day. Parents welcome to come and grab some bargains after school, too. To give you energy for all that reading you’re going to do, look out for our lovely governors selling our very own exclusive Book Week doughnuts in the playground as you make your way into the book sale! All profits will go to our school library.
