Aldermaston Book Week is going very well indeed. It's been filled with wonderful events to promote and inspire the enjoyment of reading. We've dressed up as and talked about our favourite book characters, we're book caching (see our write up in the Newbury Weekly News), enjoying hot chocolate and pyjama wearing at our story telling evening and puzzling over the 'Masked Reader' videos. Today, we are going to enjoy a feast after a brilliant Book Week House Learning Morning.
We always enjoy our House Learning Mornings. These sessions give our children the opportunity to learn and work together across all school year groups. It's inspiring to watch our younger children being supported by their older peers. We're proud that our House Group system is about much more than just sports day.
Working together, the children created a magnificent picnic inspired by some of their favourite stories. Perhaps you could name the books? The feast included green eggs and ham crackers, cheese broomsticks, blueberry pies, caterpillar kebabs and, of course, marmalade sandwiches! To be clear, no caterpillars were harmed in the making of this picnic.
What a tasty way to celebrate our love of reading!
