Kakatsitsi master drummers
Last week we welcomed Kakatsitsi, a group of master drummers from Ghana, to our school to share their musical and dancing talents.
They had the whole school on their feet dancing and singing! The children were brilliant at learning different rhythms and joining in with the music by clapping alone and with partners. We learnt about how the music they shared was part of their Ghanaian tradition and how it reflected their daily lives and their beliefs.
This workshop was made available to the school as part of the Newbury Spring Festival which brings internationally renowned and popular international artists to the UK during May every year.
