Covid 19 - Information for Autumn Term 2020

Larks Club

In response to the temporary closure of Playzone’s breakfast club, we have organised short term provision for those families where parents will struggle to attend work without morning wraparound care.  We initially arranged for this club to run up until Friday 9th October, but have now taken the decision to continue this provision until Friday, 18th December.  We will review the need to continue further after Christmas in due course.

Larks Club will be run from 8.15am every day, Monday to Friday.   Please note that children attending will not receive breakfast and will need to have eaten before they are dropped off at school.  There will be a charge of £2 per session per child in order to cover running costs.

The club will be run in accordance with our current Covid 19 school risk assessment measures.  Children attending will be allowed to share tables and activities with other children in their bubbles but mixing between bubbles will be minimised as far as possible.

If you would like your child to attend, please complete and return the booking form (also attached to this e-mail and available through our website) to our enquiries@aldermaston.w-berks.sch.uk e-mail address.  You will receive an e-mail confirming that you have been allocated a place.  Please note, there are limited places available.

Remote Learning

Our school has plans in place for remote learning.

If a small number of children require access to learning resources while isolating in accordance with government guidance, this will be provided through our existing school home learning pages.  Details of weekly lessons, including links to high quality video resources, are published at the start of every week on the school website.  Children who cannot attend school are signposted these resources and teachers welcome any completed work sent in electronically for feedback.

If there is a national or local lockdown, or a whole class of children are required to isolate, we will move to providing remote learning through Google Classrooms.  Each child will be given their own unique logins.  They will be expected to 'attend' one live session with their teacher every day and will receive classwork and return completed assignments for feedback and assessment throught the google classroom platform.
